For the past four years, I’ve written a new blog post every Wednesday. This is the first time Christmas has fallen on a Wednesday during that time.
So I thought I’d bring you something special today, instead of just a regular blog post.
A client let me know about this video last week, and I immediately knew I had to share it with you, dear reader.
First of all, I dare you not to let this bring a tear to your eye (I’ve watched it over and over, and it still gets me every time!).
Second, I can’t resist alerting you to a few great business lessons we can all learn from this video. I’ll list those below the video, to give you a chance to enjoy it as it unfolds, and discover them for youself…
Was that fantastic, or what?!
So…
What outstanding business practices did you see at work?
For me, this video does a super job of demonstrating the power of…
That last point is the key to business success: Your ultimate goal is to find out what your target market wants, and then give it to them. That’s the key not only to customer appreciation, as demonstrated so well in this video, but also to making more sales.
WestJet proclaims that one of its guiding values is to be “fun, friendly and caring.” This is a fantastic example of using a live experience plus a video recording to demonstrate the company’s dedication to that value.
They’ve also got millions of people all around the world wondering “What will they do next?” and eagerly awaiting their next emails, newsletters, videos, etc.
And there’s one more big lesson, of course…
If you want your message to “go viral” – to be enthusiastically shared online as well as offline – you want to tell an emotional story, especially in a fun, surprising way.
Airlines are some of the most-complained about companies of all.
But after watching this video, who doesn’t love WestJet?
Merry Christmas to you and yours, and may all of your customers, clients or patients love you and your business, now and forevermore!
