Part of online marketing for B2B businesses is promoting blogs and social media posts, though some of that has been giving way to images over straight text. While there’s been debate about whether images are going to receive more focus in online marketing over actual reading, it’s obvious text isn’t going to go away completely. Regardless, adding more images to postings is going to be a major marketing trend through the rest of this year, says Forbes.

According to Forbes, many of those postings with images are going to be considerable in order to attract the most attention. But while that might sound like posting a bunch of annoying .gif files, it doesn’t have to be limited. When it comes to imagery in online marketing, you have some options that ably help combine information with pics.

Using Images Within Your Blogs and on Social Media

While it’s probably a given to use at least some images in your blog, you still see many that use very few if any imagery. It’s more challenging to capture someone’s attention with straight textual pieces nowadays. When you have compelling images surrounding specific paragraphs, you’re giving a new edge to the marketing material you’re pushing to other businesses.

Most of all, you’re giving a visual correlation to specific things this way, especially when you have images that look sharp and pack a punch. It can be challenging to find images like that without having to pay for them. Fortunately, a lot of public domain sites exist that can give you imagery to your blogs without having to pay a cent. You can also use your own photography if you know how to take good pictures. When your blogs or social media posts are industry specific, your own photos can bring more credibility.

Using Infographics

Perhaps you’ve seen too many infographics on websites lately. Regardless, they’re still very popular and manage to combine possibly dull information into something visually exciting. You may have a business that has to explain overly dry subject matter to another business. By using infographics in your blog or on your website, you can help explain what you do in a unique way without boring anyone.

Creating an infographic can sometimes be a problem if you don’t know how to do it yourself. With Photoshop, though, it’s certainly possible to make one on your own. Professionals exist that can also make them for you.

Using Pinterest and Instagram in Your Marketing

Instagram is still the place to go on social media to start using more images. Many companies have found a lot of success posting nothing but photos and short videos showcasing a product. Plus, while Pinterest might be considered reserved for businesswomen, it doesn’t have to be reserved for one gender. Don’t be afraid of starting a Pinterest account where you can regularly showcase images of your product.
