David T. Fagan: How to Make More Money with The Mad Scientist Mentality

1

Mad scientists mostly get a bad rap and are the villains in stories, cartoons, and movies. The fact is that some of the greatest minds our planet has ever seen have been Mad Scientists. Consider Socrates, Aristotle, Sir Isaac Newton, and Albert Einstein.

You must know Mad Scientists are just insanely passionate experimenting inventors of ideas, solutions, and problem solving devices and machines.

You may need to ask yourself if you are insanely passionate, or even better if you are an insanely passionate experimenter.

Here are 9 questions to see if you have a little mad scientist in you…

  1. Do you forget to eat or not care about food when you get a really good idea?

  2. Do you forgo sleep when you get a good idea?

  3. Do you forgo sleep when you feel you are close to a break through?

  4. Do you chart your successes and failures?

  5. Do you research the successes and failures of others?

  6. Do you have a “lab” where you can work uninterrupted?

  7. Do you love to experiment and try new things?

  8. Do you get upset and even more focused when people get in the way of your experiments?

  9. Do you have an evil laugh when your best ideas manifest themselves?

All right, the last one isn’t necessary, but it doesn’t hurt either!

I regularly try different techniques, stories, exercises, and environments when it comes to my events. My team is always playing around with new technology and systems.

Just because you don’t use chemicals, machine parts, and electronics doesn’t mean you can’t be a Mad Scientist. Every business owner needs to be mad or passionately insane. Every business owner needs to be a scientist or an experimenter. Oprah, Donald Trump, Mark Cuban, and Michael Jordan are all experimenters who are passionately insane. Look at all the things they have tried…and they are NOT always successful either. Plus, they don’t just invent new ways to do business or make money; sometimes they reinvent themselves.

Experiment. Blow things up if you have to. Think outside the box. Get outside your comfort zone. Find something so compelling and intoxicating to work on that you lose track of time, forget to eat, have no need to sleep, and just get totally, absolutely lost in your work. After all, is it really work if it’s your passion? A Mad Scientist doesn’t think so.
