Are you a seminar junkie like me?
I’ve attended dozens of business seminars and workshops all over the country, and I’ve hosted over 200 of my own events here in Chicago over the past five years.
Wherever I go, people are always asking me, “Steve, how do you do it? How do you consistently hold fantastic live events for entrepreneurs?”
I’m going to tell you how I do it.
It’s a lot more than just implementing the right tactics. You must have the right mindset…
In a day and age of Google Hangouts, webinars, Skype, Face Time and all kinds of other ways of holding “meetings” without actually meeting anyone in person, for my money there’s still nothing that compares with an actual live, in-person event.
This understanding of the impact of people engaged face-to-face does not apply only to business…
My beautiful wife Michele and I recently watched “Countdown To D-Day,” a biographical made-for-TV movie based on the behind-the-scenes planning and preparations by U.S. General Dwight Eisenhower for the famous World War II invasion.
In one scene, “Ike” (played by Tom Selleck – without his trademark mustache!) was having a discussion with another military leader about possible tactics for finishing off the Germans and ending the war.
They were commenting on the successful bombing campaigns that were decimating entire areas in Europe, and how those attacks had the Germans on the defensive and losing heart to continue fighting – but they were hesitant to send in 160,000 troops, knowing that an alarming number of those fine young men would not survive the assault (they estimated a shocking 70% casualty rate!).
That’s when Ike said something like, “Well, General, you and I both know that wars are only won with actual boots on the ground.”
That immediately struck me as being an excellent analogy for doing business today.
In this day and age where technology is constantly making it easier and easier for us to communicate with our prospects through email, text messaging, social media, voicemail and the like, business is still done best in person – something all top performers understand well, while under-achievers deny in a costly attempt to make doing business “easy” or “convenient.”
That’s why sharp marketers still make it a priority to attend live events – whether as presenters or attendees.
Nothing compares with the energy and excitement of a room full of like-minded, forward-thinking, ambitious business people all gathering to make new connections and gather new information and grow their businesses.
The first live business seminar I hosted here in Chicago was on September 18, 2008. 10 days from now, Chicagoland’s Sharpest Entrepreneurs will celebrate our 5th Anniversary in style – with a two-day, star-studded extravaganza for high achievers.
That’s where hosting a successful event begins: By providing outstanding content.
Some of the nation’s leading business-building experts will be providing expert instruction and guidance:
James Malinchak, Star of ABC-TV’s “Secret Millionaire,” is fulfilling a promise to those who attended our last quarterly event in June to return to Chicago and deliver a pure-content, in-depth seminar based on his “Millionaire Entrepreneur Secrets” course.
Perry Marshall, The World’s #1 Expert On Internet Advertising, will teach an all-new session based on his latest book (all attendees will receive copies). He’ll make this presentation again two months from now here in Chicago at a major international marketing conference that will cost $2,297 to attend, but readers of this blog can get FREE tickets (until all seats are gone – which will likely be VERY soon). See below for free ticket details.
Steve Clark, North America’s #1 Sales Coach, will deliver powerful persuasion strategies and tips that every business person can use to get more new clients, more repeat business and more referrals.
Steve Sipress, Chicagoland’s Most-Respected Marketing Coach (that’s me!) will teach two sessions, continuing my ongoing mission to empower business owners, entrepreneurs and salespeople to have more freedom and income and less frustration and stress.
Another way to ensure a great live event is to make it fun to attend.
We’ll be doing that at on September 21st and 22nd with our 5th Anniversary Celebration, “Marketer Of The Quarter” competition, a Book Signing with myself and my co-authors of “Ultimate Entrepreneur Success Secrets,” raffles for over $2,000 in Door Prizes, photo opportunities with the All-Star Expert Presenters, and of course, The Best Professional Networking In All Of Chicagoland.
One more key to a great event is to attract the very best attendees.
Our Expert Panel of Presenters will help make that happen. And I’ll also be giving away a brand-new iPad 4 to the winner of our Referral Contest.
That’s where everyone will get one entry into the drawing for the iPad 4 for every guest they bring, and the person who brings the most guests will have his or her contest entries DOUBLED.
Make sure you have all of those factors present at your next live event, and you’re all but ensured of having one heck of an excellent event, where everyone has a great time and can’t wait for your next one!
